Twittering

I like to follow the trends, but I’m not much of a trend-setter. For example, I’ve know about Twitter since it came out but I was on the side of the nah-sayers. “My God, it’s totally useless!” I’m finally coming around and figuring out what it’s all about. This little video sure made the case for me:

I’ve been resisting Twitter for a while, too, and joined just a couple of weeks ago. I finally figured out how it would work in my life when neither I nor other people want to know what I’m eating for lunch on a daily basis.

I saw people who post irregularly on their website use it to supplement their blogging. I saw integration where Twitters change your Facebook status (because Twitter is still more a blogger’s site than FB that is oh-so-general). I saw how you send a fully-formed Twitter from your cell phone while I wouldn’t blog from my (non-PDA) cell phone. Then I figured out how to show Twitters on my blog (if anyone cared to look) and to create a FriendFeed to integrate Flickr, blog(s), and Twitter into one feed, and I’m sort of hooked. :)

I like Tumblr quite a bit as you can chose if you’re posting just a picture, video, conversation, text, or quote. One of these days, Blogger or WordPress might have a Twitter-type of mini-posting option but we’ll see….

A blog with a 140 character limit to facilitate SMS texting. Yippee!

wyn – I found your twitter when I was looking at your blog sidebar. Just kinda random that way.
